Overview
A central cylinder supply unit is the most critical element of a hospital medical gas system, and the automatic medical gas manifold system handles it in two stages. First-stage regulators reduce the high pressure arriving from the cylinders to 8-10 bar. Second-stage regulators then bring that intermediate pressure down to the final 4-5 bar line value. The unit is fed by left and right ramps carrying the cylinders, and automatic changeover between the duty and reserve bank keeps supply uninterrupted while empty cylinders are replaced.
High-pressure and low-pressure sensors connect the manifold to a digital alarm panel, which raises an emergency alarm on any high or low line pressure event and shows the outlet pressure together with the remaining cylinder content on screen. Distribution inside the ramps uses medical copper pipe with a wall thickness chosen for high-capacity flow, so the gas passes smoothly even at maximum draw. A by-pass line, visual and audible alarms and three selectable languages with adjustable upper and lower alarm limits are part of the standard specification, and all data can be transmitted to central monitoring systems.
Three body versions are offered. The Deluxe unit (TEC51.19.DEX) switches between right and left ramps with a single click, monitors both cylinder banks and can take a liquid tank as a third reserve source, controlling three lines simultaneously through its electronic control mechanism. The Vexillum unit (TEC51.19.VEX) and the compact Junior unit (TEC51.19.JUN) cover mid-range and smaller installations. Alarm control choices run from the Deluxe (DMA) and Vexillum (VMA) panels to a touch screen unit (TSA) and a remote Overseer alarm (OSA).
The system can be fed by individual cylinders or by cylinder bundles, and it can be integrated with liquid oxygen tanks or oxygen generator stations as part of a redundant source strategy. Ramps are available for 1 to 6 cylinders, with manifold options from 2x2 up to 2x20 and capacities of 35, 180, 300 and 600 m³/h. Supporting components include flexible copper connection pipes, flexible high-pressure hoses, wall-mounted cylinder connection units and collector evacuation valves.

Frequently asked questions
How does the manifold keep supply going when a cylinder bank empties?
The unit is built as two banks on left and right ramps. When the duty bank falls below the set pressure, the system changes over automatically to the reserve bank and the alarm unit signals that the empty side needs replacing. A by-pass line lets staff work on the unit without interrupting the pipeline.
What pressure does the manifold deliver to the pipeline?
First-stage regulators reduce cylinder pressure to 8-10 bar and second-stage regulators bring it to the final line value of 4-5 bar. Inlet and outlet connections are 3/4", and capacity options run from 35 m³/h up to 600 m³/h.
How many cylinders can be connected?
Ramps are produced for 1 to 6 cylinders (TEC51.19.01 to TEC51.19.06) and manifold configurations run from 2x2 up to 2x20. The system can also be fed from cylinder bundles instead of single cylinders.
Which alarm unit should be specified?
The Deluxe alarm (DMA) suits installations that need three lines and a liquid tank as third reserve. The Vexillum alarm (VMA) covers standard two-bank manifolds with adjustable limits. The touch screen unit (TSA) adds a graphical panel, and the Overseer unit (OSA) is an audible and light-indicator alarm for remote technical rooms.
