Tank-Over Medical Vacuum Plant – Twin Pump System (TEC51.24)

The tank-over medical vacuum plant mounts two oil-type vacuum pumps directly on a horizontal receiver, producing a complete suction source with almost no floor area and very little height. Each suction outlet is connected to the tank through a check valve, and the plant is fully automatic with bacteria line filters and a PLC control panel.

Overview

The tank-over medical vacuum plant answers the plant rooms that a vertical system cannot serve. Two oil-type vacuum pumps sit on top of a horizontal tank, which keeps the overall height low enough for basements and technical rooms with restricted headroom. The unit is designed and delivered as a ready-to-use assembly, so installation is largely a matter of connecting the vacuum line, drain and power.

Each suction outlet is connected to the tank and equipped with check valves, so the idle pump cannot be back-fed while the other is running. The plant is designed as fully automatic in connection with bacteria line filters and a PLC control panel, which handles soft starting, equal aging and the active or passive status display of both machines. The compact structure keeps pipework short and simplifies commissioning.

Seven models follow the same capacity ladder as the other vacuum plants: 25, 40, 60, 106, 151, 205 and 305 m³/h per pump at 50 Hz with motor powers of 0,75 to 7,5 kW. Each model uses two pumps over a single tank of 500, 1000 or 2000 litres, with a single bacteria filter set, a connection equipment set and one PLC control panel. It is a practical choice for smaller hospitals, clinics and departmental suction sources where a full triplex plant would be oversized.

Frequently asked questions

How low a ceiling can the tank-over plant work under?

Because the pumps sit directly on a horizontal receiver instead of beside a vertical tank, the overall height is limited to the tank plus the pump unit. The layout was developed specifically for low ceiling rooms, so the exact clearance is confirmed against the selected model at the design stage.

Why does each suction outlet have a check valve?

The check valves prevent flow back through the pump that is not running. With both pumps mounted on a shared tank this keeps the standby machine isolated and lets either pump be taken out of service without breaking the vacuum in the tank.

Is two pumps enough for a hospital?

A twin configuration gives duty and standby operation, which suits smaller hospitals, clinics and departmental sources. Where the standard requires a third machine or where the diversified demand is larger, the triplex TEC51.22 or rack TEC51.23 plants use the same capacity range.

Vacuum Tanks, Bacteria Filters and PLC Panels

These are the three components that turn vacuum pumps into a complete medical vacuum plant.
