Tecnomed designs and manufactures complete plant rooms for hospitals, day surgery centres, laboratories and field facilities, working to EN ISO 7396-1, HTM 02-01, ISO 13485 and MDD 93/42/EEC (CE).

The TEC51 range covers every source a hospital can need. Automatic cylinder manifold supply units in Deluxe, Vexillum and Junior configurations feed the pipeline from cylinders or bundles. Frequently asked questions

Which gases can a Tecnomed medical gas plant supply?

The TEC51 range covers oxygen, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide, medical air 4 bar and mix gas from cylinder manifold supply units. Medical air is produced on site by screw-compressor plants, medical vacuum by rotary vane pump plants, and oxygen either from PSA generators or from cryogenic liquid oxygen tanks.

Should we choose a cylinder manifold, a PSA oxygen generator or a LOX tank?

It depends on bed count, oxygen demand and the reliability of local cylinder logistics. Cylinder manifolds suit smaller facilities and are always used as the emergency or reserve source. PSA generators from 3 to 150 m³/h make the hospital independent of deliveries. LOX tanks of 3 to 30 m³ are the usual primary source for large hospitals. The three are often combined, with a manifold as redundant backup.

Which standards do the plants comply with?

Manifold supply units, vacuum plants and liquid oxygen converter units are produced in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1, HTM 02-01, MDD 93/42/EEC and ISO 13485. Medical air plants additionally follow ISO 7391-1, ISO 7396-2 and HTM 2022, vacuum plants HTM 2021, compressed air tanks BS EN 286-1:1998+A2:2005, and cryogenic tanks EN 13458-2 with the 2014/68/EU Pressure Equipment Directive.

Can the plant be monitored from outside the plant room?

Yes. Manifold alarm control units and vacuum PLC panels carry line pressure, cylinder occupancy and pump status signals, and the automatic manifold supply unit can transmit all data to central monitoring systems. Overseer alarm units can be installed in technical rooms or nurse areas at a distance from the plant.

Do you size and customise the plant for our project?

Yes. Capacities, number of compressors or pumps, tank volumes, filtration and control options are selected against the bed count and flow calculation of the project. System capacities and components may differ according to the project, and containerised ready-to-run assemblies are available where no plant room exists.
