Overview
The Flash intensive care unit is a functional wall unit on which the equipment used during intervention with the patient is mounted, and on which the medical gas sockets and electrical services are located. It is designed for first level intensive care and for private intensive care rooms, where the bay has to carry a full critical care service load but does not need a ceiling bridge or pendant. Tecnomed manufactures all its intensive care units in accordance with EN 11197.
The body is a deep horizontal aluminium profile with upper and lower rails running the full length, so monitors, pumps, baskets and other rail-mounted equipment can be positioned anywhere along the bay. Standard accessories are six grounded mains sockets, six UPS sockets, grounding points, a data socket, nurse call provision as an option and medical gas outlets in DIN, BS or AFNOR pattern. Socket groups are usually split left and right of the bed so both sides of the patient are served.
Three Flash variants are catalogued: TEC11.07, TEC11.10 and TEC11.11, differing in the front panel design and layout. The visual designs of all Tecnomed intensive care units are reserved and designed specifically for the customer and the hospital project, so the graphic on the front panel, the finish and the arrangement of services are set per contract. Flash suits level 1 ICU bays, private critical care rooms, coronary care and high-dependency areas.

Frequently asked questions
What level of intensive care is the Flash unit intended for?
It is designed for first level intensive care and for private intensive care rooms in more special rooms. Where the unit has to carry heavier equipment loads or serve a modular ICU layout, the Na-Di bridge type unit or a ceiling pendant is usually specified instead.
How many Flash variants are there?
Three are catalogued: TEC11.07, TEC11.10 and TEC11.11. They share the same service specification and differ in the front panel design and layout. All visual designs are produced specifically for the customer and the hospital project.
How many sockets does an ICU unit carry as standard?
Six grounded mains sockets and six UPS sockets in DIN, UK or USA pattern, plus grounding points and one data socket. Medical gas outlets are supplied in DIN, BS or AFNOR pattern and nurse call provision is available as an option. Socket and outlet counts can be increased for the project.
