Twin Bed Head Unit - Double Channel Bedhead for Wide Walls

The Twin bed head unit uses a double aluminium body channel with side composite lighting channels, so it can carry more medical gas services and more electrical services than a single-channel bedhead. Its wide body suits broad walls, and gas and electricity pass through fully separate channels. Manufactured to EN 11197.

Overview

The Twin bed head unit is built for rooms where a single-channel profile runs out of space. Its double aluminium body channel accommodates more medical gas services and more electrical services in one run, and the two side composite lighting channels spread reading and room light along the full width of the unit. The result is a bedhead that fills and visually balances a wide wall rather than leaving a narrow strip above the bed.

Construction keeps gas and electricity in separate passages: every gas service and every electrical service has its own channel through the body, so maintenance on one side never disturbs the other. The unit ships as standard with four mains sockets, two UPS sockets, grounding points, a data socket, two LED bottom reading lights, two LED upper room lights, a double switch group and medical gas outlets in DIN, BS or AFNOR pattern. All Tecnomed bed head units are manufactured in accordance with EN 11197.

Optional features include front cover design options, wood and gold foil coating, antibacterial paint in RAL colours, non-standard lengths and an accessory rail. The wide format works well in double-bed rooms, larger private rooms and high-dependency beds where extra outlets and extra sockets are required. Each unit is produced in the size, colour and feature set defined by the hospital project.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the Twin bed head unit over a single-channel bedhead?

Because it carries more. The double aluminium body channel accommodates additional medical gas services and additional electrical services in the same run, and the standard specification already doubles the socket and lighting count of a ward unit. It also presents better on a wide wall, where a narrow profile can look undersized.

How is electrical safety handled in a double channel unit?

Gas and electrical services pass through separate channels throughout the unit, and grounding points are fitted as standard. Mains and UPS circuits are supplied as distinct socket groups so critical equipment can be connected to the protected supply.

Can an accessory rail be added to the Twin unit?

Yes, an accessory rail is one of the listed optional features, along with front cover design options, wood and gold foil coating, antibacterial RAL paint and non-standard lengths. Specify the rail at order stage so the fixing is built into the profile.
