Overview
The Unique series bed head unit is designed to combine technology and finish quality in the same profile. Instead of presenting a bank of switches, the unit can be operated from a touch control panel built into the front face or from a corded control hand remote at the bedside, with a dimmer for the reading and room lighting. Visual lighting behind a diffuser runs along the body, and the front cover itself can be illuminated, which changes the character of the room at night.
The body is a deep, sculpted aluminium profile with a wrapped decorative surface and a chrome accent line. Wood foil, coloured metallic foil and UV printing are all used to finish the cover, so the unit can be matched to an interior scheme or to the hospital's own corporate colours. Medical gas outlets, electrical and data sockets and the control panel are recessed into the face, and the whole wall system is arranged so that gas, lighting and electrical services stay hidden inside the structure.
Each Unique unit is produced specifically for the customer and the hospital, in the size required by the room and with the comfort features and visual designs chosen by the client. Tecnomed manufactures the range in accordance with EN 11197. Typical applications are VIP and executive patient suites, private hospital rooms, maternity suites and paediatric services, where special pediatric designs and double-colour LED reading and room lighting are frequently specified.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Unique unit controlled by the patient?
Two ways, and both can be fitted. A touch control panel is recessed into the front face of the unit for staff and for patients who can reach it, and a corded control hand remote brings the same lighting controls to the bedside. A dimmer allows the reading and room lighting to be adjusted rather than simply switched.
Can the cover carry our hospital's branding or a custom image?
Yes. Unit covers can be produced with UV printer printouts, and special cover designs are made to the hospital's own company colours. Special designs for paediatric services are also available, which is a common request for children's wards where the wall system doubles as room decoration.
Is the Unique unit a standard catalogue product?
It is produced specifically for each customer and hospital. Size, comfort features and visual design are all decided per project, and Tecnomed's designers work from the room drawings. Manufacture follows EN 11197 in the same way as the rest of the TEC11 range.
What makes it suitable for VIP rooms?
The wall system hides medical gas services, lighting and electrical services inside a single sculpted structure, so the room reads as a hotel suite rather than a hospital room while keeping every clinical service immediately available at the bedside.
