Overview
The Trio intensive care unit is offered to users in services where more electrical services are needed and where a 30 x 10 mm rail service is required to accommodate all accessories and cover wide walls. The layout stacks the services: rows of grounded mains sockets and UPS sockets across the upper part of the panel, medical gas outlets along the lower part, and grounding points distributed between them, so a single unit can serve a bay that would otherwise need two separate installations.
Like the rest of the Tecnomed intensive care range, Trio is a functional unit on which the equipment used during intervention with the patient is mounted, and it is manufactured in accordance with EN 11197. Standard accessories start from six grounded mains sockets and six UPS sockets in DIN, UK or USA pattern, grounding points, a data socket, optional nurse call provision and medical gas outlets in DIN, BS or AFNOR pattern, with the actual counts increased to suit the electrical load of the bay.
The 30 x 10 mm rail service is the practical difference. It runs the length of the unit and takes the same accessories used elsewhere in the Tecnomed ICU range - monitor stands, baskets, serum rails and infusion pump carriers from the TEC12 group - so equipment can be placed anywhere along a wide wall. Visual designs of all Tecnomed intensive care units are reserved and drawn specifically for the customer and the hospital project.

Frequently asked questions
What size is the Trio accessory rail?
The rail service is 30 x 10 mm and runs along the unit, so it accepts the standard rail-mounted equipment used in intensive care: monitor stands, baskets, serum rails and infusion pump carriers from the TEC12 accessory group.
How much more electrical capacity does Trio offer?
Trio is specified for services where more electrical services are needed than a standard ICU unit provides. The baseline ICU specification is six grounded mains sockets and six UPS sockets; Trio's stacked layout allows these rows to be extended along the length of the unit to match the bay's equipment load.
Is Trio suitable for a very wide wall?
Yes - that is one of the reasons it exists. The unit is designed to cover wide walls with a single continuous run, so a bay does not need two separate installations and the accessory rail remains uninterrupted across the full width.
