Wi-Fi Nurse Call System - Display Screen, Call Button, Hand Set and Transmitter

The Tecnomed Wi-Fi nurse call system covers a complete ward without call wiring at the bedside. A nurse call display screen handles up to 200 call buttons and shows floor, room and bed in detail; battery-powered ABS call buttons with handset sockets sit at each bed; and a signal transmitter unit with external dipole antenna extends coverage through high-rise buildings.

TEC71.01 Wi-Fi Nurse Call System – TEC71.01

Overview

The Wi-Fi nurse call system is a wireless call installation for hospitals, clinics and care facilities. The nurse call display screen TEC71.01 sits at the nursing station in an ABS plastic housing measuring 400 x 250 x 30 mm, and up to 200 call buttons can be defined on it. Incoming calls are announced with sound and light, six call indicators can be shown at the same time, and the screen displays floor, room and bed numbers in detail alongside a digital clock, so the nurse on duty reads the location directly from the board.

At the bedside, the nurse call button TEC71.02 is moulded in ABS plastic that resists impacts and bumps and works over a strong range area. Lithium battery technology gives more than five years of battery life, the call can be reset from the button itself, and an RJ11 locked type socket accepts the nurse call hand set TEC71.03. The hand set is shaped so that even child patients can hold it, runs on a 1.40 m spiral cable and clips to the wall mounting equipment when it is not in use, which keeps it off the floor and within reach.

Radio coverage is handled by the signal transmitter unit TEC71.04, a stylish wall-mounted unit with an external dipole antenna that provides a complete solution for long distances and for signal in high-rise buildings. A data light on the unit indicates that a call has been received, so commissioning and fault-finding can be done visually on site. Separate letters and codes can be set for each region, which lets a single display distinguish wards, floors, wings or bathroom areas using the hospital's own naming.

The system is installed in inpatient wards, private and VIP rooms, intensive care units, dialysis and day treatment units, care homes and clinics, and is particularly suited to refurbishments where new call wiring would mean closing rooms. Optional reporting is available by recording the process with the TEC71.07 call recording unit, and WC coverage is added with the TEC71.05 cord button and TEC71.06 over door warning lamp. For IP system nurse call and classic nurse call, ask for the relevant catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

How does the nurse know which bed is calling?

The display screen shows floor, room and bed number in detail for each call, not just a room lamp. Six call indicators can be active at the same time, and separate letters and codes can be defined for each region, so a single board can cover several wings or floors with the hospital's own naming.

Can patients tell an emergency call from a normal one?

The system uses a different ringtone for normal and emergency calls, and every incoming call is signalled with both sound and light at the display. Combined with the over door warning lamp, staff in the corridor can see which rooms have standing calls without going to the station.

Is the handset suitable for children and elderly patients?

The nurse call hand set TEC71.03 is designed so that even child patients can hold it, and it plugs into the bedside call button through an RJ11 locked type socket. The 1.40 m spiral cable keeps it within reach in bed, and wall mounting equipment holds it when it is not being used.

What happens in a large or multi-storey building?

The signal transmitter unit TEC71.04 carries an external dipole antenna and is designed as a complete solution for long distances and for signal in high-rise buildings. Additional transmitter units are added where corridors are long or floors are separated by heavy structure.
