Nurse Call Recording Unit and Reporting Software

The Tecnomed call recording unit TEC71.07 adds reporting to the nurse call system. It records every call, determines the time of nurse intervention and lets calls be defined by region such as bathroom, WC or first-floor patient rooms. The unit connects to a computer by USB and the software prints reports for monthly, weekly, daily or custom date ranges.

TEC71.07 Call Recording Unit and Software – TEC71.07

Overview

The call recording unit and software TEC71.07 turns nurse call traffic into evidence a ward manager can use. The unit records and reports nurse calls raised anywhere on the system, and the accompanying software determines the time of nurse intervention for each call, so the interval between a patient pressing the button and a nurse attending is measured rather than estimated. Calls can be defined by the region they came from - bathroom, WC, patient room, first floor and so on - which separates high-risk wet-area calls from routine requests.

The unit is a compact wall-mounted device with an antenna, matching the other wireless components of the system, and it connects to a computer by USB. Reporting periods are selectable: monthly, weekly and daily ranges are built in, and an optional custom date range can be specified for an audit period, a shift pattern or an incident investigation. Reports can be printed directly, which covers accreditation files, quality committee packs and management reviews without exporting data by hand.

The recording unit is used wherever call performance has to be demonstrated or staffing decisions justified: inpatient wards, intensive care and high-dependency units, private hospitals reporting service levels to patients, care homes and rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals working towards accreditation. It is an optional addition to the Wi-Fi nurse call system TEC71.01 and can be specified at the outset or added later to an installed system without changing the bedside equipment.

Frequently asked questions

What does the call recording unit actually measure?

It records each nurse call and determines the time of nurse intervention, so the report shows how long calls waited as well as how many were made. Because calls can be defined by region, the figures can be broken down by bathroom, WC, patient room or floor rather than presented as a single ward average.

How is the software connected?

The recording unit connects to a computer over USB, and the software runs on that PC at the nursing station or in the ward office. No separate server is needed, and reports are printed directly from the software for monthly, weekly, daily or custom date ranges.

Can it be added to a system that is already installed?

Yes. The recording unit is an optional addition to the Wi-Fi nurse call system and does not change the bedside call buttons, handsets or door lamps. Wards that start without reporting can add it later when accreditation or management reporting requires it.
