Overview
A DIN 13260-2 medical gas outlet is the socket where staff connect a flowmeter, vacuum regulator or ventilator hose to the hospital pipeline. The probe is held by four stainless-steel pins; insertion takes a maximum of 100 N and withdrawal 110 N, so one controlled movement is enough in either direction. An integral check valve closes the gas path automatically as soon as the upper body is removed, which means the head can be serviced or swapped without isolating the zone valve and shutting the ward down.
The lower body is machined from calibrated brass and fully degreased for medical service, so every surface the gas meets is metal. In the MC version the upper body is brass as well; in the PC version the same brass block carries a moulded ABS plastic cover. The gas separator housing that receives the probe is brass with a nickel-free chrome finish, and the sealing gasket between lower and upper body, like all internal seals, is silicone. Gas-specific colour coding and marking are applied to the visible front.
Four connection variants are available for every gas: 45° pipe, 90° pipe, 45° union output and rear union output, so one outlet family suits bed head units, pendants, wall modules and bare copper drops alike. The standard copper tail is 8 mm diameter and 120 mm long, with 10 mm and 12 mm tails available on request. Pipe ends are degreased and then closed with plugs, so the cleanliness achieved in the factory survives transport and site storage.

Frequently asked questions
Which DIN outlet code do I order for oxygen with a 90° pipe connection?
TEC61.01.02.MC for the all-brass version or TEC61.01.02.PC for the ABS-cover version. The second block of the code is the gas (01 = oxygen) and the third is the connection type, 01 to 04 for the DIN range.
Can the outlet be serviced while the pipeline is pressurised?
Yes. The check valve inside the lower body shuts the gas path when the upper body is lifted, so the head can be cleaned, repaired or replaced without draining the line. The zone valve still has to be closed for work on the lower body or the pipe itself.
Is the PC model suitable for oxygen?
It is. In the PC model only the outer cover is ABS plastic; the lower block, the gas separator housing and every other part in contact with the gas are brass, degreased to the same medical specification as the MC model.
What copper tail is supplied?
An 8 mm outlet pipe, 120 mm long, is standard on the pipe-connection versions. Tails of 10 mm and 12 mm are available as an option. All tails are degreased and plugged so they arrive clean on site.
