Overview
The Mega series medical gas outlet is aimed at hospitals that want the terminal units to outlast the refurbishment cycle. Product components are produced entirely from metal raw materials – brass, stainless steel and aluminium – without any plastic, and the lower body is machined from M58 forged brass. The operating system is designed so the gas probe is released by pressing with one finger, which keeps the everyday handling as comfortable as on the lighter series.
Because there is no plastic in the assembly, the front resists impact from trolleys, beds and cleaning equipment and tolerates repeated disinfection without crazing or discolouring. The unit keeps the platform behaviour of the TEC61 range: the check valve interrupts the gas when the upper body is removed for maintenance, seals are silicone, and every gas-wetted surface is brass. Tecnomed provides a five-year warranty on Mega series outlets, and the series is designed to Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC.
Mega outlets are available for oxygen, medical vacuum, medical air 4 bar, medical air 7 bar, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide, with probe geometry to BS 5682 or DIN 13260-2. Codes use connection numbers 09 to 12 with an .MG suffix, covering 45° pipe, 90° pipe, 45° union and rear outlet versions. Typical placements are intensive care, operating theatres, emergency departments and any high-traffic position where a plastic cover would not survive.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose Mega over the standard MC outlet?
Both have a brass gas path, but on Mega every component – including the trim and operating parts – is metal, and Tecnomed backs the series with a five-year warranty. It is the choice for intensive care, theatres and any location where covers take knocks or heavy disinfection.
Is the Mega series harder to operate because it is all metal?
No. The operating system is designed to release the gas probe when pressed with one finger, so handling matches the lighter series. The difference the user notices is the solid feel and the temperature of the metal front, not extra force.
Which gases are available in the Mega series?
Oxygen, vacuum, medical air 4 bar, medical air 7 bar, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide. For nitrogen, use the standard DIN 13260-2 or BS 5682 outlets, which cover all seven services.
What does the five-year warranty cover?
Tecnomed provides a five-year warranty on the Mega series outlet itself when installed and used as intended. Consumable items such as probes, adapters and hoses follow their own warranty terms; ask for the current warranty statement with your quotation.
