Wall Gas Module – 1 to 6 Medical Gas Outlets in One Aluminium Body

The TEC62 wall gas module groups one to six medical gas outlets in a single extruded aluminium body. Flush-mounted and surface-mounted versions are available with a standard or stainless steel cover, and six gas options including AGSS. It is the simplest way to bring a defined set of services to a theatre, ICU bay or patient room wall.

TEC62 Wall Gas Module – TEC62

Overview

A wall gas module is a prefabricated strip that carries a chosen set of medical gas outlets behind one clean faceplate, instead of a row of individually installed sockets. Tecnomed produces the TEC62 module for operating theatres, intensive care services, patient rooms and other departments, with one to six outlets per module. The outlets themselves are standard TEC61 terminal units, so probe standard, gas service and cover material are specified exactly as they would be for a loose outlet.

The body is an extruded aluminium channel, which gives a rigid, straight face over the full length and a consistent gap around the outlet rings. Two cover families are listed: the on-plaster standard cover for surface mounting, and the stainless steel cover for under-plaster, flush installation where the module is set into the wall and finished level with the plaster. Both are sized by outlet quantity, from one outlet up to six.

Gas services follow the TEC61 range and include anaesthetic gas scavenging, so a theatre module can carry oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, surgical air, vacuum and AGSS in a single run. Copper tails exit the top or rear of the channel for connection to the pipeline. The module suits both new build, where flush installation is planned with the wall, and refurbishment, where the surface-mounted version avoids opening up finished walls.

Frequently asked questions

How many outlets can one module carry?

From one to six. Codes TEC62.01 to TEC62.06 are the on-plaster versions with the standard cover and TEC62.07 to TEC62.12 the under-plaster versions with a stainless cover, in each case counting up from one to six outlets.

What is the difference between on-plaster and under-plaster?

On-plaster modules are surface mounted on a finished wall, which suits refurbishment. Under-plaster modules are recessed into the wall and finished flush, normally with the stainless cover, which is the usual choice for new operating theatres and ICUs.

Can the module include an AGSS outlet?

Yes. Six gas options including anaesthetic gas scavenging are available, so a theatre module can combine oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, surgical air, vacuum and AGSS in one body, with the AGSS position served by the Tecnomed scavenging system.

Which outlet standard is fitted?

The module takes the standard TEC61 terminal units, so DIN 13260-2, BS 5682 and AFNOR NF S 90-116 are all available, in MC brass or PC ABS versions. Specify the standard with the order and the module is assembled and tested accordingly.
