Rigid Ceiling Pendant (TEC21.05)

The rigid ceiling pendant is a fixed-position supply column for rooms where the point of care never moves. Without arms or joints it delivers medical gas outlets, electrical sockets, grounding points and rail-mounted accessories directly above a defined working position, in the simplest and most robust form in the TEC21 range.

TEC21.05 Rigid Ceiling Pendant – TEC21.05

Overview

A rigid ceiling pendant is mounted straight to the ceiling and drops a single fixed service column over the working position. There are no arms and no rotating joints, so the head cannot be swung aside - and equally cannot be knocked out of alignment. That makes it the right answer for rooms where the bed, trolley or workstation always sits in the same place and where the priority is a clean, durable service point rather than freedom of movement.

The column carries the same standard service package as the articulated pendants: eight electrical sockets in UK, USA or European pattern, eight grounding points and two rail racks for monitors, pumps and drawers. Because the load path is vertical and the structure has no moving joints, the unit is mechanically straightforward and needs very little routine attention. Load carrying capacity is 90 kg as standard, with customised builds available up to 180 kg.

Shelves, an IV pole, a drawer, a data socket cover, pressure gauges for the medical gases and medical gas outlets in BS, DIN or AFNOR pattern can be specified on the head. Rigid pendants are typically installed in intensive care bays with a fixed bed position, in dialysis and day-treatment rooms, in laboratories and in equipment rooms where a permanently positioned gas and power point is more useful than an articulated arm.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a rigid pendant over an articulated one?

Cost, durability and simplicity. With no joints or brakes there is nothing to drift, and the unit stays exactly where it was installed. In rooms where the working position is fixed, an articulated arm adds expense and maintenance without adding clinical value.

Can the rigid pendant still carry a monitor and pumps?

Yes. It ships with two rail racks as standard and takes the same optional shelves, drawers and IV poles as the articulated versions, with 90 kg of standard load capacity and up to 180 kg on a customised build.

How is the position determined?

The column is set from the room drawings against the bed or workstation position, so the outlets and sockets land where the team needs them. Because the head does not move, this coordination is done before production and confirmed against the ceiling detail.
