Non-Motorized Single Arm Double Joint Pendant (TEC21.03)

The non-motorized single arm double joint pendant is a fixed-height ceiling supply unit for bed spaces that need gas, power and data overhead without electrical height adjustment. One arm and two joints let the head be swung around the bed and parked clear, while the standard socket, grounding and rail package stays the same.

TEC21.03 Non-Motorized Single Arm Double Joint Pendant – TEC21.03

Overview

A non-motorized single arm double joint pendant uses the same suspension geometry as the motorized version - one horizontal arm, two rotating joints - but the service column is set at a fixed installed height instead of travelling electrically. The head is still free to swing through an arc around the bed and to be parked out of the way, so access for nursing, imaging and bed movement is unaffected. Removing the drive keeps the unit simpler, lighter and easier to maintain over its service life.

Standard equipment is unchanged: eight electrical sockets in UK, USA or European pattern, eight grounding points and two rail racks for monitors, pumps and drawers. Brake buttons and knuckles are colour-coded so the joint being released is immediately visible, and an electromagnetic and pneumatic brake system is available as an option. Load carrying capacity is 90 kg as standard, and customised builds are produced up to 180 kg where the equipment stack on the head is heavier than usual.

Optional items include shelves, an IV pole, a drawer, a data socket cover, pressure gauges for the medical gases and medical gas outlets in BS, DIN or AFNOR pattern. The non-motorized unit is normally specified for general and step-down intensive care, day surgery, dialysis and treatment rooms, where the working height around the bed does not change from shift to shift and the budget is better spent on the service mix than on a powered column.

Frequently asked questions

Can the head still be moved on a non-motorized pendant?

Yes. The two joints rotate exactly as they do on the motorized version, so the head swings around the bed and parks clear when it is not needed. What is fixed is the vertical position of the service column, which is set during installation.

How is the installed height decided?

It is agreed from the room drawings before production, taking account of slab height, the bed or trolley in use and the reach needed at the outlets and sockets. Because the height is fixed, this decision is best confirmed at project stage rather than on site.

Is the non-motorized version cheaper to maintain?

There is no drive system on the column, so routine maintenance is limited to the joints, brakes, gas outlets and electrical services. That makes the unit a common choice where a large number of bed spaces are being equipped at once.
