TEC81.05 Operating Room Lamp (Vega Series) – TEC81.05

Overview

The Vega series operating room lamp was developed to meet the needs posed by modern surgery and each of its disciplines. It is a ceiling-mounted surgical light built around multi-element LED heads carried on articulated arms, so the light body can be brought over the table from any approach and repositioned during the procedure without the team leaving the sterile field. The homogeneous nature of the Vega series light increases surgeon comfort in every place across the field and enlarges the operating area that can be worked in at one time.

Each arm offers 360° rotation, which allows a double-head configuration to be set for surgeon and assistant independently, or turned completely out of the way for imaging and patient transfer. The lamp is operated from an advanced touch panel on the light body and from a remote control, and the whole system is designed to be easy to operate so that theatre staff are not fighting the equipment during a case. It is supplied as a ceiling installation and is coordinated with the room's slab, ceiling grid and air distribution during project design.

The operating room lamp is used in general and specialist operating theatres, day surgery rooms, delivery and caesarean rooms, emergency operating rooms and interventional suites. It is normally specified together with Tecnomed ceiling pendants, medical gas outlets and area valve service units so that the ceiling layout, gas services and lighting are engineered as one package. Configuration, head arrangement and mounting height are set from the theatre drawings for each project.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vega operating room lamp ceiling mounted?

Yes. It is installed on the theatre ceiling and carried on articulated arms with 360° rotation, so the heads can be brought over the operating table from any direction and parked clear of the field when they are not needed. Mounting height and the ceiling interface are set during project design.

How is the lamp controlled?

There is an advanced touch panel on the light body and a remote control, and the system is designed to be easy to operate so settings can be changed quickly during a case. The homogeneous light distribution means fewer adjustments are needed in the first place.

Can the operating room lamp be supplied with pendants and gas outlets?

Yes, and that is the usual arrangement. Tecnomed supplies surgical pendants, medical gas outlets, area valve service units and the pipeline system for the same theatre, so the ceiling layout is coordinated as one package with a single set of drawings.
