Overview
The intertwinement type inspection lamp TEC81.03 is a mobile LED examination lamp on a five-leg castor base. Its flexible arm gives a working radius of 800 mm, so the head can be positioned over a couch or bed without moving the base. The 9 W LED source produces white light with a luminous flux of 550 lm, an illuminance above 70,000 lux at 500 mm and 20,000 lux at 1,000 mm, and a light field of about 130 mm at 500 mm and 250 mm at 1,000 mm, which keeps the illuminated area tight around the examination site.
Light quality is set at approximately 4,000 ± 200 K with a colour rendering index above 90 Ra, so tissue colour is judged correctly during examination, dressing changes and minor procedures. Lamp life is rated above 50,000 hours, and the power button is integrated into the transformer housing, with on/off and dimming controlled from the head. The lamp accepts 100-240 V at 50-60 Hz, so the same unit works on 110 V and 230 V networks, and the connection pin is Ø 18 mm with a U 35 mm fitting for stand, wall or rail mounting.
The intertwinement type Acrobat lamp TEC81.04 uses a counterbalanced spring arm instead of a flexible neck, so the head stays exactly where it is placed and can be swung out of the way between patients. It runs an 8 W LED with approximately 23,300 lux at 500 mm, a light field of about 220 mm at 500 mm and 425 mm at 1,000 mm, a light colour of approximately 4,300 K and a rated life of up to 67,000 hours. Projection reach is around 800 mm, and standard supply is 220 V at 50-60 Hz.
Both lamps are used in examination and consultation rooms, emergency and minor operating rooms, delivery rooms, dressing and plaster rooms, ICU bays and outpatient clinics. The Acrobat lamp is available with a dimmer on request, an international plug and a 110 V version, and both models can be ordered as mobile units on the castor base or prepared for wall and rail mounting. Can the lamps be dimmed?
The TEC81.03 inspection lamp has on/off and dimming as standard, controlled from the head with the power button built into the transformer housing. On the TEC81.04 Acrobat lamp a dimmer is available on request as an option.
Are these LED lamps suitable for minor surgery?
They are examination and inspection lamps, intended for examination, dressing, plaster and minor procedure work. For surgical fields, use the TEC81.05 Vega series operating room lamp, which is designed for the illumination and field size that theatre work requires.
How long do the LED heads last?
The inspection lamp is rated above 50,000 hours and the Acrobat lamp up to 67,000 hours. In practical terms that is many years of daily clinic use before output falls, and there are no lamp bulbs to replace as there are with halogen examination lights.
