Vexillum Zone Control Unit - Galvanized Steel Zone Valve Box (TEC31.02)

The Vexillum zone control unit is a galvanized steel medical gas zone valve box for one to six gases including vacuum, closed by a hinged cover with a lock. Separate analogue manometers, isolating valves and low pressure sensors serve each gas, and the Multi Alarm X display is read through the cover window. Built to EN ISO 7396-1 and HTM 02-01.

Overview

The Vexillum zone control unit monitors the pressure of the gas services in a medical area and cuts the gas flow in an emergency. Each gas has a dedicated analogue manometer, an on-off medical gas valve and a low pressure sensor, and a Multi Alarm X panel mounted in the cover reports the zone digitally. Manufacture is in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1 and HTM 02-01, the references most hospital medical gas specifications call up.

Case and cover material is galvanized steel, and the cover is hinged and fitted with a lock, so the unit can be secured against unauthorised operation while remaining immediately accessible to staff who hold the key. A window in the cover keeps both the analogue manometers and the digital alarm visible with the door closed. Pressure slabs are made of brass material and the on-off valves are types intended specifically for medical gas duty.

Tecnomed zone control units are designed as recessed, flush-mounted units as standard, and surface-mounted variants are available; application can be made with both models. Regional control panels are produced as 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 gas versions depending on demand, and the gas equipment fitted inside the product varies according to the project. The Vexillum body is the usual choice for technical corridors, plant-side risers and areas where a lockable metal enclosure is preferred.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Vexillum and the Elegance unit?

Both control one to six gases to the same standards. The Vexillum unit has a galvanized steel case and cover with a hinged, lockable door, while the Elegance unit uses an electrostatically painted carbon steel frame behind a sliding printed plexiglass cover. The Vexillum is the more utilitarian enclosure; the Elegance is chosen where the unit is on public view.

Is the unit recessed or surface mounted?

Tecnomed zone control units are designed as recessed, flush-mounted units as standard. Surface-mounted variants are available and application can be made with both models, so the choice usually follows the wall construction and the depth available behind the finished face.

Can the cover be locked?

Yes, the hinged cover is fitted with a lock. The window in the cover means the manometers and the digital alarm can still be read while the unit is locked, so routine monitoring does not require opening it.

How many gases can a regional control panel cover?

Regional control panels are produced as 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 gas versions depending on demand, with one to six gases including vacuum controlled from a single unit. The gas equipment fitted inside varies according to the project.
