Stainless Zone Control Unit - Stainless Steel Zone Valve Box (TEC31.03)

The Stainless zone control unit is a medical gas zone valve box built entirely from stainless steel, for areas where hygiene, cleaning regimes or humidity rule out a painted body. It monitors the pressure of each gas service in the area and cuts the gas flow in an emergency, manufactured to EN ISO 7396-1 and HTM 02-01.

Overview

The Stainless zone control unit performs the same duty as the rest of the TEC31 range: it monitors the pressure values of the gas services in a medical area and allows the gas flow to that area to be cut off in an emergency. Each gas is fitted with its own analogue manometer and its own isolating valve, and a Multi Alarm X panel in the cover provides digital pressure indication and audible alarms. Manufacture is in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1 and HTM 02-01.

What distinguishes this version is the material: the product is made of stainless steel throughout, case and cover. That matters where the surrounding finishes are stainless, where cleaning is done with aggressive disinfectants, or where humidity and sterilisation cycles would attack a painted or galvanized enclosure over the life of the building. The hinged door carries the manometer window and the alarm panel, so the zone can be read without opening the unit.

Like the other zone units, it is supplied as a recessed flush-mounted body as standard and takes copper pipe stubs top and bottom for connection into the pipeline. The gas count and the equipment fitted inside follow the project. Stainless units are typically specified for operating theatre complexes, sterile services, isolation suites and laboratory areas where the wall build-up and the cleaning protocol are set by infection control rather than by aesthetics.

Frequently asked questions

When is a stainless steel zone unit worth the extra cost?

Where the enclosure is cleaned with aggressive disinfectants, where the surrounding wall finish is already stainless, or where humidity would degrade a painted or galvanized body over time. Operating theatre complexes, sterile services and laboratory areas are the usual candidates.

Does it use the same internal components as the other zone units?

Yes. The monitoring and isolation function is identical - analogue manometers for each gas, medical gas isolating valves and a Multi Alarm X panel for digital indication and alarms. Only the enclosure material changes.

Which standards does it meet?

Tecnomed zone gas control units are manufactured in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1 and HTM 02-01. The same references apply to the Elegance and Vexillum bodies, so the choice of enclosure does not affect compliance.
